DESCRIPTION

Seeheim-Jugenheim is a town located in the southwest of Germany in the region of Hesse, about 40km south of Frankfurt and close to the cities of Darmstadt, Mainz and Heidelberg. Our twin city is the grouping of 7 villages: Seeheim, Jugenheim, Balkhausen, Malchen, Ober-Beerbach, Steigerts and Stettbach.

Surrounded by forests, castles and vineyards, Seeheim-Jugenheim is a small haven of peace. The city is recognized for its exceptional schools: the pilot school, the Schuldorf Bergstrasse, accommodates nearly 2,000 students and the “State International School Seeheim-Jugenheim” which offers students education exclusively in English. In the heart of the beautiful forest above the city, there is also the headquarters of the flight crew training center of the German airline Lufthansa.

There is no shortage of green spaces in Seeheim-Jugenheim because the city is surrounded by forests and by the Odenwald mountain. Very close to the city there is a geopark classified with the heritage of UNESCO, the Bergstrasse-Odenwald Nature Park. The castles of Seeheim-Jugenheim, or their ruins, retrace the history of the region and their tales and legends are still told today. (eg Heiligenberg Castle, Frankenstein Castle and Alsbach Castle).

In addition, there are many vineyards around Seeheim-Jugenheim and in the “Bergstrasse” region whose white wines are renowned.
